Long Time, No Post

Hi, I know I have been a bit short on posts and I knew I had to explain to my blog readers out there. Well, over the past week, a terrible accident occurred. My laptop got spoilt because a whole vase of water poured on it and since that was the only source of Internet I had, I have been quite stranded. The little chance I had with wifi I decided to use it to write to you. Sorry if I'm not very frequent with my posts, I'm in quite fix until I get a new laptop, hopefully :)

Feel Good Music :)

Sometimes we just need music. I like Gospel music I think you should try it too :). This is A God Like You by Kirk Franklin

Are You A Clone of A Clone?

Today creativity is being lost in itself. Yes, we spend so much time trying to copy that very "creative" person that we loose our own identity. The truth is, you wearing Aztec prints and blocking colours doesn't mean you are creative, it is the fact that you have been able to bring out your true personality(or in this case style) in a way people have never seen before. In a world were there is a lot of craziness, creativity is key. What makes you different from the next person wearing her top back to front? Yes that's crazy but is it creative? It may have been creative when the first person who thought about it wore it out, but when a thousand more people joined the trend, the uniqueness was gone. It is time we think out of the box that's outside of the box and look beyond the craziness. Find that comfort zone of yours, that thing that best fits you, that people may call boring. Find it and re-package it in a way people have never seen it before because, in this very dynamic world creativity consists of only two things: Inspiration from God and repackaging. The truth is we spend a lot of money on repackaged goods, the first dress was black with short sleeves, the next dress was black but with long sleeves, oh and yes the third dress is a must have, black but with no sleeves! You see the same dress has been repackaged into three different dresses and we keep buying these repackaged goods which we call "a fresh and new design". The same goes for gadgets, applications, phones, laptops, name it! everything is repackaged and we are always keen to buy the latest version of the "new"(A.k.A repackaged) application. So what I'm trying to say is that, we need to stay true to ourselves, find what fits  us best and just  apply creativity in repackaging. Think out of the box that's outside the box! God will guide you as you do so :). I appreciate comments :)

Blissful Rain

Welcome to my side of the world, where there is no winter, summer, fall/autumn or spring. It's just the wet season and the dry season. Our climate is what researchers call the humid tropical climate. At the moment we are in the wet season(popularly known as rainy season). This season consists of high's and low's, that is, (especially the part I live in) it consists of three mini-seasons the long-rainy season, the short dry season and the short rainy season before the dry season comes along. Right now is the end of the long rainy season and it usually rains the heaviest at this time.

Okay enough of the geography info, well as it was rainy(it stopped as I started writing this post) I thought of how much I wanted the sun to come but my friend once told me that I should be grateful. Yes, the rain prevents me from taking a walk or wearing my favourite sunglasses but I need rain as much as I need sun. Without the rain how would farmers grow crops? If it were sunny all through won't we feel extremely dehydrated? All I'm trying to say here is that God gave us the rain and the sun, and we should love them both equally, because they play equally important roles.

Come Rain! Come Shine!

There Is Always That Lady

After a lot of thinking, searching and well just wondering, I finally came to a conclusion. It is that no matter how crazy fashion gets, there is always that lady. Yes! that lady who would always be a lady and her style never gets old. That lady who doesn't let fashion rule her style but lets her style rule fashion. That lady who always looks polished but with an edge. That lady who carefully selects which piece fits her style and discards the rest. Yes, I realised that there is nothing wrong in being that lady. I cannot deceive myself, not every trend is for me. I'm a lady, I love heels, and cute dresses. I love feminine silhouettes, and I'm still in love with that 60's vintage blazer chic look. I have tried working with trends but it doesn't work with me, a crop top is a no no(except those really trendy lace ones). I am A LADY!

FOREVER A LADY

VICTORIA BECKHAM

The Fall Movement For Forever 21

Forever 21 has always been one of my favourite stores. That's because not only does it have really cool clothes, but also does  it have really reasonable prices. As I was researching for fall 2012 I came across their Fall collection. The pieces individually are really cool and retro chic! All you need is to pair them together, mix and match, you can even throw in some vintage pieces alongside these clothes and you are good to go!

Burberry Prorsum - Pre Spring/Summer 2013 collection

Also, as i scrolled through Vogue, I saw another fashion collection that I absolutely adore! Its the Burberry Prorsum Pre Spring/Summer 2013 collection. I have to say, Burberry Prorsum, has been on my like list quite recently. After seeing some of its pieces on Net-A-Porter Online magazine, I couldn't help but check this collection out. It has that clean, sleek monochrome look that I love. Even though I love colours Black, White, Grey and Gold are still classics!

Peter Pilotto - Pre Ready-To-Wear Spring/Summer 2013 Collection

Okay, so as I have been doing my fashion research I recently came across Peter Pilotto's 2013 spring summer collection. I must say that I am pretty impressed by the way this collection mixes and matches prints and colours. In particular this collection reminds me of my African heritage, over here we have a fabric we call Ankara, it's all about prints and colours, and this collection reminds me a lot of that.

I'm new at this..

I'm new at this, but I hope this works. Well to introduce you to my self, I'm Temi, a 16 year old girl from Nigeria. My blog title might sound quite bizarre but I have a perfectly good explanation for such a name. I have big dreams for this blog, and I hope you all would help me accomplish them! Welcome to The Many Colours of A Mogul :)
